On-Site Project

With nearly 20 years of experience working in the preclinical imaging industry I have had the opportunity to learn and understand the basics of almost all commonly used imaging modalities. However, understanding a modality and how it works, is not sufficient to operate a specific piece of equipment to perform high quality, reproducible, imaging studies. As such, the systems which I am comfortable operating in a reproducible manner to assist in a larger on-site project are the following: - High Frequency Ultrasound Imaging - Vevo systems from Visual Sonics - Prospect T1 systems, manufactured by S-Sharp and distributed by Scintica - Magnetic Resonance Imaging - M-Series systems from Aspect Imaging - Bioluminescence and Fluorescence Imaging - Newton optical imaging systems from Vilber I also have extensive animal handling experience, primarily with mice, but including rats, guinea pigs, and fish. I am proficient at tail vein cannulations using a butterfly catheter set, which is commonly used in contrast agent imaging studies; have performed jugular vein cannulations on mice in the past, as well as airway installations of small particles. I have also worked on, and trained numerous groups on doing image guided needle injections into almost every viable target using ultrasound guidance; this includes easily accessible organs like the heart, liver, lungs, kidney, to more challenging targets such as the pancreas, prostate, and the adrenal gland, and finally have successfully repeatedly injected into the portal vein. I have extensive experience on all of the above mentioned systems and their applications in a wide array of areas including: - cardiovascular research - cancer research - developmental biology - image guided injection for model development or intervention - basic neurological imaging - contrast agent imaging Let's connect to discuss your specific project based needs and how I can be of assistance.
