With nearly 20 years of experience working in the preclinical imaging industry I have had the opportunity to learn and understand the basics of almost all commonly used imaging modalities. Over this same period I have watched how marketing activities have changed, and are continuing to change even more rapidly lately, from basic website and printed content, to the advent and exponential growth of social media channels in this space. From the more formal LinkedIn type content, to the more inspiring and engaging content of channels such as Twitter, Instagram, and even TikTok, this type of marketing is totally different than the historical print catalogues, and stuffy product centric emails that have been used in the past. The path to success and recognition is unique in every industry and field, however in scientific research this path is diverse. The challenge is to appeal to those that are more advanced in their careers and have a more traditional expectation of marketing content that they will consume; while those just striking out in their careers or completing their studies are attracted to more dynamic, faster hitting, content that they can consume quickly, and typically by video rather than by text and pictures. I have extensive experience creating many different types of content, including website and product focused technical content, to more creative scientific content. I am proficient at using Canva, and have been working in the Adobe suite of programs for the past few years. With the advent of AI tools in the marketing space, the future is bright, but also poses some technical and ethical challenges which must be considered then creating engaging content for any platform. I have also given and hosted numerous webinars on a variety of topics, at differing levels of education and product focused content. I am very familiar with the Zoom and Teams platforms, and find most hosting platforms to be very similar and easy to pick up.
