Scintica Instrumentation Inc.

     November 2016 - May 2024 (7 years, 9 months)
          Product Manager; November 2016 - March 2018
Team Leader, Physiology; March 2018 - January 2020
Manager, Imaging Division; January 2020 - October 2022
Director of Scientific and Corporate Development; October 2022 - January 2024
Senior Account Director, Northeast Region; January 2024 - May 2024

I joined Scintica prior to it's official formation in 2017. Initially representing a single manufacturer, the focus was on sales and marketing
activities with the goal of linking scientists with quality research tools to further advance their work. Over the nearly 8 years that I spent at
Scintica, being the first employee alongside the founders, I helped the company grow and expand to represent over 15 manufacturers
with significant revenue growth year after year. The company not only grew in manufacturers we represented, but also in people, number
of offices, and geographical territories where we were active.
     Key Skills:
Preclinical Imaging: High frequency ultrasound imaging of a diverse array of anatomical targets, and disease areas; MR imaging using
a compact permanent magnet; Optical imaging; Dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA/DXA) imaging.
Business Development: worked to identify, assesses, and onboard many of the manufacturers we represented, and several others that
we did not decide to represent. Worked to initiate and expand the network or world-wide distributors that we engaged in overseas
               markets.
People Management: For some time I managed the large team of Product Managers, and actively worked to develop my management
               and communication skills.
Presentation: One of the primary responsibilities I had was presenting our product portfolio to a wide variety of audiences, including
students, world-class scientists, as well as others working in the industry.
Demonstration and Training: Another primary responsibility throughout my tenure at Scintica was to demonstrate the majority of our
products to potential customers, and follow-up with post-sales training activities; as well as to be the primary person to train and
on-board the new employees as they joined the team.

     October 2014 - August 2016 (2 years, 8 months)
          Product Manager

I worked with our partners to define novel software and/or hardware product solutions focused around medical imaging technologies.
     Key Skills:
Business Development: worked to develop and flesh out partner contracts, defining needs and subsequent requirements, and being
the voice of our customer with the development team during the execution of the project.
Quality Management System: I worked with the Quality Manager to develop, review, and implement policies, procedures, and
templates to achieve certification for medical device design, development, and manufacturing (ISO 13485), and successfully
managed the first project to pass through the newly implemented system to successfully pass our certification audit.

Aspect Imaging

     August 2011 - October 2014 (3 years, 3 months)
          Applications and Product Specialist

I joined Aspect Imaging as part of the preclinical commercialization office that was created in Toronto, ON Canada. I was involved in
expanding the applications of the highly unique, and innovative, compact MRI system, including the use of gadolinium based contrast
agents, and other applications allowing the biology-focused scientists to truly harness the power of MRI for their preclinical imaging
studies. I was also heavily involved in product development efforts including both hardware and software development projects.
     Key Skills:
Preclinical Imaging: MR imaging using a compact permanent magnet; Optical imaging to assist in 3D reconstruction of bioluminescent
data for co-registration with the MRI data.
Business Development: worked to initiate and expand the network or world-wide distributors that we engaged in overseas markets.
Product Development: worked closely with the engineering team in Israel, and our customers, to provide feedback, suggestions, and
design ideas to help improve the utility of the system, and overall image quality and performance.
Presentation: One of the primary responsibilities I had was presenting our products to a wide variety of audiences, including students,
world-class scientists, as well as others working in the industry.
Demonstration and Training: Another primary responsibility throughout my time at Aspect was to demonstrate the MRI system to
potential customers, and follow-up with post-sales training activities.

Visual Sonics Inc.

     July 2006 - May 2011 (4 years, 10 months)
           Applications Specialist; July 2006 - April 2010
Applications Team Leader; April 2010 - May 2011

I joined Visual Sonics at quite an early stage in their growth. My initial role was to help develop the microbubble contrast agent line of
consumables, and work with the team to effectively test and train both our internal team, as well as customers. Quickly I began expanding
on all areas of ultrasound imaging in preclinical research and had the opportunity to learn a great deal about various disease models
through my extensive work with key opinion leaders in their fields. Further, I worked with the VP of Business Development to further
expand our reach across overseas markets by engaging, supporting, and training a collection of distribution partners. Finally, I managed
the team of Applications Specialists located across both North America and Europe.
     Key Skills:
Preclinical Imaging: High frequency ultrasound imaging of a diverse array of anatomical targets, and disease areas.
Business Development: Worked to expand the network or world-wide distributors that we engaged in overseas markets.
People Management: For some time I managed the international team of Applications Specialists.
Presentation: One of the primary responsibilities I had was presenting our product to a wide variety of audiences, including students,
world-class scientists, as well as others working in the industry.
Demonstration and Training: Another primary responsibility throughout my tenure at Visual Sonics was to demonstrate the Vevo
products to potential customers, and follow-up with post-sales training activities; as well as to be the primary person to train and
on-board the new employees as they joined the team.

Education

'1998-2003'

BSc.
Honors Biochemistry, specializing in Biotechnology, Co-Op Program

University of Waterloo
Waterloo, ON, Canada

'1998-2003'

MSc.
Experimental Medicine

University of British Columbia
Vancouver, BC, Canada

Co-Op Placements - During my undergraduate program I was fortunate enough to complete four work-terms, for a total of 24 months gaining invaluable hands-on laboratory experience. I secured co-op placements at University of Western Ontario, University of Notre Dame, Merck Frost in Montreal, QC, and the Canadian Science Centre for Human and Animal Health in Winnipeg, MB. I studied diseases such as metachromatic leukodystrophy, tuberculosis, asthma, and finally prion diseases. These work-terms provided me with the core foundations of preclinical research and animal handling and surgery techniques.

MSc. Thesis - Investigation of growth factor upregulation in the small airways of mice following exposure to cigarette smoke. This project involved extensive animal work to prepare the models and harvest the tissues. Samples were collected using laser capture microdisection, and subsequently analyzed using real-time PCR. Conventional histology and immunihistochemical techniques were used to confirm the molecular biology findings.

This work resulted in a publication in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine in 2007.
